This spacious kitchen in Sandy Springs had a great start - high ceilings, large footprint, lots of cabinets, and beautiful drapes. What it needed - and where Jessica’s touch is especially seen - was a lightening effect. The original terra cotta floors were replaced with hardwood floors and stained with classic gray, matching the rest of the home. A custom hood was brought in, over the generous 48” range. The arched window, brimming with star power, was given an extra oomph with a steel replacement.

The quartz backsplash adds subtle dimension, and references the clay color used for the base of the island. In the upper cabinets, careful consideration was given to the placement of the horizontal rail that cuts the door panel at the top third. “These cabinets are very tall,” says Jessica. “Long pieces of wood, without support, tend to warp over time. We wanted to get ahead of that, and strike the right line for longevity.”
